cURL Converter
Convert curl commands into fetch, Python, PHP, and Node code.
What is cURL and why convert it?
cURL (Client URL) is a command-line tool and library for making HTTP requests. It is pre-installed on macOS and most Linux distributions and is available on Windows. cURL is the de facto standard for demonstrating API requests in documentation — nearly every API provider shows examples in the form of curl https://api.example.com/endpoint -H "Authorization: Bearer TOKEN".
The problem is that production applications are not written in cURL commands. Developers need to translate these examples into their actual programming language. This manual translation is tedious and error-prone — especially for complex requests with multiple headers, JSON bodies, authentication, and custom methods.
This converter parses a cURL command and produces the equivalent code in JavaScript fetch, Axios, Python requests, PHP (cURL or Guzzle), and Node.js. It handles the most common cURL flags: -X/--request for HTTP method, -H/--header for headers, -d/--data/--data-raw for request body, -u/--user for basic authentication, and -k/--insecure for skipping TLS verification.
Common mistakes
- Quote styles in shell — cURL commands copied from documentation often use single quotes, which behave differently in Windows PowerShell than in bash. If the converter fails, try replacing single quotes with double quotes.
- Multipart form data —
curl -F(multipart/form-data) has different syntax from-d(application/x-www-form-urlencoded). Ensure you are using the right content type.
